Community Archive

Our archives hold the diverse histories and stories of North Island Residents. We strive to hold professional standards of preservation and conservation. We value community-engaged practices and want our archive to be a living part of the North Island's past, present and future.

Digitization In Progress

The Port Hardy Museum and Archive is currently seeking funding to digitize our collection and make it more accessible to the public.

The Port Hardy Museum is located on the unceded homelands of the Kwakiutl First Nation in Gwa’dzi’ (Hardy Bay), a place of longstanding gathering and exchange for many coastal nations. We honour the Kwakiutl as caretakers of these lands and waters and are committed to elevating Indigenous voices, knowledge, and perspectives.
